OVULITE USES
Ovulite is an optical device which allows a woman to predict the ovulation
phase of her cycle in order to know the days of the month during
which she is most likely to conceive. It consists of a small cylindrical
container about the size of a lipstick tube, a focalizable eyepiece
and a small slide where the saliva sample is placed and illuminated
with an LED (light emitting diode) when a button is pressed.
WHAT IS OVULITE?
Ovulite is a miniature microscope which allows you to monitor your fertility
cycle and be able to predict, on a daily basis, when you are most
likely to conceive following sexual intercourse.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Hormonal changes in a woman's body just prior to ovulation are
detected by observing a sample of dried saliva through the Ovulite
ocular lens. Microscopic crystalline structures appear as "fern-like"
patterns much like frost on a windowpane. Once you have learned
to recognize these patterns over 2 or 3 months of cycles you will
be able to accurately determine the optimal days for conception.
IS THERE A PARTICULAR TIME OF DAY WHEN IT IS BEST TO PERFORM THE
TEST?
Yes --- in the morning upon awakening. Before eating breakfast
or brushing your teeth take a small sample of your saliva and
place it on the sample slide. Once the saliva has completely dried
(10 minutes or so) you can check the results.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE OVULITE?
It is recommended that you use it daily for the first few months
while maintaining a record of your results. After a while you
will begin to recognize the normal patterns for your own body.
A Fertility Tester Diary card has been provided for this purpose.
HOW ACCURATE IS OVULITE?
Studies have shown that this procedure (studying the changes in
saliva) is one of the most accurate methods of fertility testing.
Ovulite is 98% accurate when used according to the instructions.
CAN I USE OVULITE AS A CONTRACEPTIVE DEVICE?
That is not advisable. Since a sperm can survive for several days
after intercourse you may still have a chance of becoming pregnant
even if it is on a non-fertile day.
